How to Protect Your Election Website
Wednesday July 18th @11am ET
Length: 45 minutes
Join Cloudflare’s Athenian Project and Jigsaw’s Project Shield to discuss their pro bono initiatives to protect state and local election websites from DDoS and other malicious attacks.
Cloudflare is an Internet performance and security company that protects and accelerates over seven million Internet properties and powers over 10% of the world’s Internet traffic. Cloudflare’s services are easy to turn on and off, and do not require installation of hardware or software. The Athenian Project provides Cloudflare’s highest level of protection, for free, to state and local governments with the goal of protecting the integrity of elections.
Alphabet’s Jigsaw runs Project Shield, a free service that uses Google’s infrastructure to protect election, journalism, and human rights websites from distributed denial of service attacks (DDoS), a type of digital attack that exploits thousands or even millions of computers to overwhelm a website’s servers and take it offline.
