Gartner has named Cloudflare a Challenger in the 2018 “Magic Quadrant for Web Application Firewalls” report, based on Cloudflare’s ability to execute and completeness of vision.
According to Gartner, “The WAF market is growing, driven by the adoption of cloud WAF services. Enterprise security teams should use this research as part of their evaluations of how WAFs can provide improved security that’s easy to consume and manage, while respecting data privacy requirements.” 1
Organizations looking for cloud WAF services generally expect multiple, bundled features — notably DDoS protection and CDN — in an easy-to-deploy and easy-to operate package. They increasingly request more granular security controls and configuration options, but are often under time pressures to deploy the WAF.
Organizations around the world use Cloudflare to protect their web applications from malicious threats while also accelerating performance through an integrated CDN, smart routing, and content optimization.
